Hello, this is a very good question! Since every tattoo artist has different preferences, there is no blanket answer to this question. In our article The Best Tattoo Machines 2021 we present some of the best tattoo machines currently available. These machines are also among our bestsellers.

Hello, yes, when you get a tattoo, the laws and regulations of the country where you get the tattoo apply.

Hi, thanks for your question. You are doing the right thing by looking for an apprenticeship, this is 100% the way forward. Just remember all UK artists are still trying to catch up from the pandemic and not many will have the time for an apprentice at the moment due to the huge backlog of appointments. We'd advise you to keep trying, keep practising the drawing and maybe get some practice ski....

Hi, thanks for your question. The best we can advise on this question is to contact your local council. There doesn't seem to be a set UK law on this matter. We all know you have to be 18 to have a tattoo but in terms of actually tattooing someone else, or registering as a tattoo artist, it seems there's no set age but that it does vary between different locations and councils. T....

Hi Trev, tattooing over varicose veins is possible. However, you should keep in mind that varicose veins change over time and can become a medical condition. If the varicose vein changes, the structure of the tattoo will also change and if it even has to be removed due to health complications, this will also affect the tattoo.

Hi Trev, of course numbing cream works. How well it works, however, depends very much on your body and how you feel pain. For some people numbing cream works very strongly, others hardly notice anything. It is best to try a cream in consultation with your tattoo artist and see how it works for you.

Hi Martina, the Bishop Wand Shader is a very good all-round machine despite its name. It is possible to draw bold and beautiful lines with this machine, even if other machines are even better suited for this. We recommend learning from an experienced tattoo artist how to make lines with this machine.

Hi Harvey, you can find what are called Safety Data Sheets (SDS) from every tattoo ink manufacturer in the UK and EU.We recommend that you talk to your tattoo artist and ask them to do an allergy test on the inks before tattooing. Your tattoo artist should know the colours they use and be able to advise you to minimise the risk of an allergic reaction to p-Phenylenediamine.The production a....

Hi Harry. This is the golden question!Unfortunately, we can't give you an answer to this. Not only because we don't tattoo here at Barber DTS, but also that there are many factors that come into play when working out the cost of a sleeve. From how much an artist charges per hour or session, to how long or wide your arm or leg is!Our advice, research a few tattoo artists who specialise in t....

Hi Gulshan. Thanks for your question. This would be called a realism portrait. Our advice is to look for some realism tattoo artists and research their work. Check out their social channels and decide which would be best to turn your photo into a tattoo. Contact them to arrange a consultation, pay the deposit and wait for your appointment.Good luck! Share your tattoo with us once you have h....

Hello, thank you for your question. The FK Ergo Grips and Cheyenne Hawk Thunders are not compatible unfortunately. They can connect via the use of a Screw-on Vice Connector, but this then makes the drive bar not long enough to push the cartridges. Best option is to use the Hawk or

Hi Alessio, some coloured pigments contain nickel. These have the following identifications: CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499.You can find what are called Safety Data Sheets (SDS) from every tattoo ink manufacturer in the UK and EU. Iron oxide and titanium oxide should be avoided if you are allergic to nickel as they can cause allergic reactions. We recommend that you talk to your tattoo arti....
