Top Tattoo Friendly Cities in the UK
  With around 30% of 25-39 year olds in the UK being the proud owners of at least one tattoo, it’s clear that body art is becoming the norm in popular culture. Rewind 15+ years and tattoos were nowhere near as popular as they are today, with studios typically hidden on back streets and on the outskirts of major cities. Now, tattoo parlours take pride of place along our high streets and are certainly here to stay. But which UK cities have embraced tattoo culture the most? Check out the UK’s top 10 tattoo-friendly cities below - based on the number of tattoo studios per square mile. Did your city make the list?

Top 10 UK Tattoo Friendly Cities

1.    Truro

Brimming with culture, shopping and gorgeous architecture, the southern city of Truro narrowly scooped the number one spot with 2.9 tattoo studios per square mile.

2.    Norwich

Described as a city that stimulates creativity and promotes diversity, Norwich came in second with 2.8 tattoo studios per square mile.

3.    Nottingham

Home to the legend of Robin Hood, Nottingham took the third spot with 2.7 tattoo studios per square mile radius.

4.    Leicester and Liverpool

Historic Leicester and ‘Capital of Pop’ Liverpool came in joint fourth with 2.3 tattoo studios per square mile in each famous city.

5.    Brighton & Hove and Manchester

Swooping in at joint fifth are Brighton and Hove, famous for its stunning seaside, and Manchester, the unofficial ‘Capital of the North’. Both cities boast 2.2 tattoo studios per square mile.

6.    Salford

Hot on the heels of Manchester is its historic neighbour, Salford, with 2.0 tattoo studios per square mile.

7.    Glasgow

A city rich in culture, Glasgow made the list at number seven with 1.8 tattoo studios per square mile.

8.    Chichester and Bristol

Chichester and Bristol, Banksy’s suspected hometown, came in joint eighth with 1.7 tattoo studios per square mile respectively.

9.    Derby, Westminster and Kingston upon Hull

At joint ninth, we have the birthplace of the industrial revolution, home of the UK government and the location of one of the UK’s most important ports. Derby, Westminster and Kingston upon Hull all have 1.6 tattoo studios per square mile.

10. Exeter, Plymouth and Portsmouth

Finally, in tenth place, we have historic Exeter, ocean city Plymouth and Her Majesty’s Naval Base, Portsmouth. Each city boasts 1.4 tattoo studios per square mile.
