Hi Deanna.

This would be down to the artist’s discretion. Don’t believe you can be fined for using a birth certificate as ID. It’s just if the other party accepts it as ID. We would recommend to also take a document with your name on such as a bank card or an official letter from the government, maybe a tax or national insurance document or something. Just to further back up your birth certificate. Of course the best course of action is to get yourself a provisional driving license or a passport and then get tattooed as much as you like!
