Studio: Gold Room Tattoo
Style: Neo-traditional

Most people with an interest in tattoos will have heard of Sneaky Mitch - his striking neotraditional work is known for being some of the best.

Mitch first started tattooing at home with borrowed equipment but soon realised it wasn’t the best way to learn the craft, and so instead he got a tattoo apprenticeship while studying illustration at university. He developed his style by doing a lot of drawing & painting. When he was an apprentice he would draw up what a client had asked for and also a variation – always hoping they would go with his variation.

Mitch's favourite things about being a tattooist are; the freedom to pick his own hours, that he only works on projects he enjoys and that he can be creative in his art.

Mitch’s advice for new artists?

Don’t worry about what everyone else does. Don’t focus on social media. Put in the drawing hours. There’s already tonnes and tonnes of copycats in tattooing. It’d be nice to see more people doing individual work.”
