The sterilisation process is easy with an autoclave, as the machine does all of the work, but it can be difficult to tell whether the machine really is doing the work the way it should be. As testing whether or not the items coming out of the autoclave really have been sterilised to the level you would expect is rather difficult, these control strips provide you with an easy way of testing the autoclave directly. The two yellow indicators on the test strip will only turn purple if the autoclave exposes the strips to the correct conditions, which allows you to see very easily what conditions are or are not being met in your sterilisation process.
Sterilisation is a very important and very specific process, so you have to be sure that your autoclave is doing so effectively. Naturally there is a very effective way of testing your autoclave to ensure that it is operating at the most effective possible level. The test strips, or TST control strips as they are professionally known, provide you with a very reliable and easy to understand visual result when testing your autoclave. If you’re a travelling tattoo artist this is particularly important, as it is easy for an autoclave to become damaged in transport and you need to be sure before each use that the autoclave is working appropriately, particularly if it has just been transported. These 134 TST control strips are more specifically offered for visage autoclaves, as they test the settings that these autoclaves should be operating to. The two yellow indicators on the end of the strip will turn purple only if the control strip is sterilised at 134°C for 3.5 minutes, and 121°C for 15 minutes. This not only indicates to you whether or not your autoclave is sterilising properly, but will also provide you with a good indication of what part of the autoclave is not operating correctly, based on which circle is still yellow.
