Studio: Obsidian Tattoo
Style: Illustration

Before Babook started tattooing in 2014 he studied architecture but found himself uninterested in the subject. He ultimately dropped out but his studies did allow him to broaden his artisitic horizons and explore art beyond his comics.

“I have learned to be rigorous and to surpass myself in general!”

Babook first concentrated on realism, then blackwork and now he has his own signature style of contemporary illustrative tattooing. His biggest sources of inspiration are comics, manga and digital art.

His advice for new artists is to never compare themselves to others, but to be inspired and draw a lot and work on their own style.
